1. Screen is black but sound still works
What you'll see: No picture at all, but the TV powers on, the menu sounds play, and streaming apps make sound as normal.
Why it happens: A fully failed backlight strip, blown backlight driver, or a failed inverter feeding the backlight.
How we fix it: We confirm the panel itself is healthy with a torch test, then replace the failed backlight strip(s) or driver board — a genuinely common and cost-effective repair.

2. Screen is dim or dark in patches
What you'll see: Parts of the screen are noticeably darker than others, or the whole picture looks washed out and dim.
Why it happens: One or more failed LEDs within a backlight zone (common on Mini-LED sets), or a backlight strip losing brightness with age.
How we fix it: We test each zone/strip individually and replace only the failed section where the design allows — full replacement only where the panel design requires it.

3. Screen flickers or pulses
What you'll see: The picture flickers, pulses, or briefly blacks out and recovers, especially noticeable on darker scenes.
Why it happens: A failing backlight driver struggling to maintain steady current, or a marginal connection between the driver and the strip.
How we fix it: We test the driver under sustained load (a five-minute bench test rarely reveals an intermittent fault) and replace the driver or re-seat/re-solder the connection as the fault demands.
4. Screen has a coloured tint or uneven glow
What you'll see: A pink, green or yellow tint across part or all of the screen, or visible bright/dark zones ("clouding").
Why it happens: Aging or mismatched backlight LEDs, or — on Mini-LED sets — local dimming zones behaving inconsistently.
How we fix it: We identify whether the cause is the backlight or the panel itself (a different repair entirely) before quoting, so you are never charged for the wrong part.
