Every fault below comes from real call-outs across Durban and surrounding areas. Some have a quick check you can try yourself before booking anyone — where that's true, we say so. When a visit is needed, the diagnosis is done with a signal meter, quoted before work starts, and covered by our 12-month workmanship warranty. New to this part? Start with the t-con board component guide.
1. Scrambled or garbled image
What you'll see: The picture is present but scrambled, shifted, or made of coloured blocks that don't resemble the source content.
Why it happens: A failed or faulty T-Con board unable to correctly time the signal to the panel.
How we fix it: We confirm the mainboard and panel are healthy independently, then replace the T-Con board — usually a same-visit repair with the correct part in stock.
2. Half the screen is blank or distorted
What you'll see: One half of the screen (often top/bottom or left/right) shows a normal image while the other half is blank, garbled or discoloured.
Why it happens: A T-Con board driving only one section of a dual-driven panel, or a failed connection on one side of the T-Con.
How we fix it: We isolate which half of the T-Con circuit has failed and replace the board — a well-understood, predictable repair.

3. Image appears then collapses
What you'll see: A normal picture briefly appears on power-up, then collapses into lines or blankness within seconds.
Why it happens: A T-Con board failing under load after an initial healthy moment, often heat-related.
How we fix it: We run the TV under sustained load to catch this exact pattern, then replace the T-Con board once confirmed.
Symptom doesn't match any of these?
Faults overlap — a "t-con board problem" is sometimes another link in the chain wearing a disguise. Describe what your system is doing on 069 423 8290 (or WhatsApp a photo of the error screen) and we'll tell you which component it actually sounds like, free, before anything is booked.
