What you'll notice
On an older CCFL-backlit LCD, the picture is dim for the first minute or two after power-on, then brightens to normal.
Why it happens
A failing inverter board struggling to strike the CCFL tubes at full brightness while cold.
How we fix it
We test and replace the inverter board — a well-understood fault on older LCD models, though we'll also give an honest view on whether the TV's age still justifies the repair.
